With a Grateful Heart – CC #2

Welcome to The Card Concept #2!  We have this lovely photo for inspiration this time around and we are asked to ‘use texture’ on our cards – YUM!

papersweeties-debbie-cc2(2)

In true ‘shabby chic’ fashion I set to work to create something loaded with texture and beautiful embellishments!  I started with a base of vanilla cardstock onto which I layered a piece of kraft cardstock with inked edges.  Next I layered a piece of ledger patterned paper and then  tied a twill tape ribbon bow around the card base to match the color of the little house in the picture.  I machine zig-zag stitched around all the outer edges and then added some rouched vintage lace!

To finish my card I added a gorgeous muslin flower – all raggity around the edges … LOVE!!  I hand cut two green chipboard glitter leaves and added them behind the flower.  I stamped and die cut a heart shape using the Homespun Holidays stamp set and coordinating Homespun Holidays Sweet Cuts die, and then stamped the sentiment using the Season of Love stamp set.  The final touch was the addition of three candy dots to match the twill tape bow.  What do you think … shabby chic??

Please be sure to visit The Card Concept to check out the amazing creations from the rest of the teamies … and then I hope you’ll have time to join in the fun for the ‘use texture’ challenge!

Hugs!
