My youngest son got engaged last week ... so I had the perfect opportunity to make him and his new fiance a pretty card to commemorate this special occasion!

papersweeties-debbie-12-25-16(3)

I used the Smitten stamp set to stamp the sentiment and the Sweet Borders Sweet Cuts set to die cup the pretty scalloped border!

papersweeties-debbie-12-25-16(1)

What do you think?

papersweeties-debbie-12-23-16(1)

I have another quick little project to share!

papersweeties-debbie-12-23-16(2)

The basket was created using Basket Sweet Cuts, Red and White Chenille Candy Canes, Little Wishes, Beautiful Little Wishes Sweet Cuts, Stand Add-on: Sweet Treats and Robin Egg Seam Binding.

Hot cocoa anyone?

papersweeties-debbie-12-14-16(4)

My drink of choice this time of year is hot cocoa -- and in particular, Ghirardelli Peppermint Hot Cocoa 🙂  (CLICK on the photos for up close views)

papersweeties-debbie-12-14-16(5)

I made a simple pocket out of patterned paper ...

papersweeties-debbie-12-14-16(6)

... wrapped a red satin ribbon around the cocoa packet and threaded it through a topper I made for the patterned paper pocket!

papersweeties-debbie-12-14-16(3)

I tied on a die cut tag in a present shape and stamped the 'to' and 'from'.

papersweeties-debbie-12-14-16(7)

The coordinating card was inspired by Jill's tag that she created for the 25 Days of Christmas with Paper Sweeties!

papersweeties-debbie-12-14-16(6)

I used the window die cut for the background, embossed it with the cutest trees and stars, added a scalloped circle border die cut for the 'shelf' and had fun added 'whipped cream', a candy cane and gingerbread cookie to this delicious beverage!

papersweeties-debbie-12-14-16(7)

We made these this month at all of my card classes and the girls really enjoyed walking away with a gift to go that was quick, easy and inexpensive!

papersweeties-debbie-12-14-16(2)

I whipped up a couple different ones with different patterned paper pockets that I can give to family and friends during the holiday season!

papersweeties-debbie-12-14-16(1)

Use these goodies from Paper Sweeties to recreate these sweet gift sets:

And I thought today was the perfect day to share as it is National Hot Cocoa Day - how fun!

WinterCoffeeLoversHopI'm sharing this for the on-going 2016 Winter Coffee Lovers’ Blog Hop too - so much fabulous inspiration!  You can view my original project HERE!

Last Minute Holiday Gift Ideas |

papersweeties-debbie-12-14-15(3)

Hello crafty friends!  I'm popping in today to share some oh-so-cute holiday gift ideas -- perfect for stocking stuffers, Secret Santa exchanges, last-minute gifts for teachers, neighbors, hostess thank yous, package toppers and holiday decorating!  (CLICK on photos for larger up close views!)  LINKS to the products used on these projects can be found at the bottom of this post.

papersweeties-debbie-12-14-15(4)

These 3-D felt gingerbread people are WAY TOO MUCH FUN to make and give!  They are the perfect 'TV watching activity' ... die cut using the Sugar and Spice Sweet Cuts set and add the blanket stitch around edges while watching a yummy holiday movie on the Hallmark channel!  You'll have fun decorating them with little bits and bobs of treasures from your stash ... here my ginger lady is holding a Red & White Chenille Candy Cane and I added a couple of lengths of Licorice Baker's Twine to the back as hangers so they could be added to the tops of packages or as ornaments on the tree!

papersweeties-debbie-12-14-15(5)

A cute little Milk for Santa bottle was embellished using a variety of goodies from the Paper Sweeties boutique:  Dear Santa, Stitched Tags #3 Sweet Cuts, Red & White Chenille Candy Canes, Green Apple Seam Binding, Rusty Bells, Strawberry Baker's Twine, Holly Days Sweet Cuts, Strawberry Paper Straw.

papersweeties-debbie-12-14-15(7)

Nothing cuter than a fuzzy felt mitten embellished with lots of yummy goodies!  I hand drew a mitten shape, cut two of them out of felt, blanket stitched around the edges and then decorated with yummy bits and bobs to include: Holly Days Sweet Cuts, Red & White Chenille Candy Cane, Strawberry Baker's Twine, Vintage Holiday Postcards.  These are cute as utensil holders at your holiday dining table or sweet gift card holders!!

 papersweeties-debbie-12-14-15(12)

And, of course, I had to make a PINK and aqua set to match my living and dining room decor!  These sweet gingies coordinate so well with the pink flocked tree I decorated for this month's December challenge at Paper Sweeties!!

papersweeties-debbie-12-14-15(8)

These little cutie pies were equally as much fun to whip up -- created using a variety of snipetts from my craft stash along with: Sugar and Spice Sweet Cuts, Pink & White Chenille Candy Canes, Merry and Bright Sweet Cuts, Cotton Candy Sequins.  I also added lengths of Robin Egg and Cotton Candy Baker's Twine to the backs of the gingies so they could be added to packages or ornaments on the tree!

papersweeties-debbie-12-14-15(10)

This 3-D aqua gingham tree is the perfect size to pair with the the sweet little gingies!  I made it 3-D by die cutting three from the Merry and Bright Sweet Cuts set, scoring them down the middle, trimming any branches that need adjustment, adding Cotton Candy Sequin ornaments and topping the tree with a die cut star from the Merry and Bright Sweet Cuts set!   FUN!!!

papersweeties-debbie-12-14-15(13)

Merry and Sweet!  Visit my December challenge post to see how I created the tiny ornaments on the pink tree!

Ho Ho Ho – TSTR #198

Photo Inspiration #198

Hello sweeties!  Oh my goodness ... I can hardly believe that tomorrow is Christmas Eve!  My how time flies when you're having fun ... I LOVE the holiday season!   I'm spending today cooking up a storm ... a Polish feast for my family to enjoy Christmas Eve night -- golumbkis and pierogies along with grilled salmon, macaroni salad and homemade bread!  Christmas Day I'll be cooking a pork roast with all the trimmings.  What are your plans for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day??

This week at The Shabby Tea Room, our challenge is called 'A Few of My Favorite Winter Things' and we are asked to create a card/project using buttons/bells, snowflakes, white and silver - YUM!

Debbie TSTR #198 (2)The Tea Room challenge is sponsored this week by The Ribbon Reel and I used these delicious goodies from Keilly's fabulous shop:  Natural Button Twine, Crochet Lace Trim, Snowflake Trim, Pink Fabric Flower, Pink & White Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, White Polka Dot Bitty Bag, Silver Jingle Bells, White Leaf Pin.

And these goodies from Paper Sweeties - Ho Ho Ho, Cake Crumbs seam binding, Vintage Winter White seam binding.

Debbie TSTR #198 (1)

I love making sweet little gift bags to give to family and friends all year long!  I fill them with little bits and bobs of treasures ... this one is filled with a handmade little something for a very special friend who lives across the miles.  I wanted to send her something handmade and sweet to show her just how much her friendship means to me!  At this time of year, I especially love to make handmade from the heart little treasures for my family and friends!

I hope you'll have some crafty time throughout the holiday week to join us in the Tea Room for our 'A Few of My Favorite Winter Things' challenge ... Keilly has generously donated a $10 gift certificate to her beautiful shop for this week's lucky winner!

Merry Christmas to one and all!

Imported from the North Pole!

Hello sweeties!  Hard to believe that Christmas is only one week away!  It was 'just' June, so I'm not sure how that happened?!?  Are you ready??

papersweeties-debbie-dec18(1)

I'm putting the finishing touches on my last minute handmade gifts and whipped up a couple of these cuties that I will fill with homemade cookies, fudge and candies!

papersweeties-debbie-dec18(2)I made this {sweet} tag by die cutting a snowflake shape and then adding a gingerbread couple stamped using the Ho Ho Ho stamp set and then die cut with the coordinating Ho Ho Ho Sweet Cuts die!  I added a sweet candy cane in between the little Mr. & Mrs. - stamped and die cut from the same two sets!

papersweeties-debbie-dec18(3)I tied the tag I made onto the top of the can using some silver ribbon and added a yummy Red & White Chenille Candy Cane and a couple of silver jingle bells!  The final touch to this {sweet} treat was the addition of a paint can opener so the recipient can dig into the goodies inside the can!I found the printable patterns for the can wrappers on line -- which came with a recipe for 'play snow' too!  What a fun gift idea -- especially for those of us that live in the south and don't get to see snow that often!papersweeties-debbie-dec18(5)But like I mentioned above, mine will be filled with homemade {sweet} treats to eat this holiday season!

papersweeties-debbie-dec18(4)

Thanks for stopping by today!  Wishing you a wonderful holiday season surrounded by people you love and things you enjoy!

Hugs - xoxo

Sweet Treats – TKJ #151

Debbie TKJ #151 (2)For this week's 'Something New' challenge at The Kraft Journal, I tried my hand at making a little goodie treat bag to give to visitor's during the holiday season ... the 'new' twist was a chocolate covered spoon I included in my {sweet treat} bags!  I  began with a Medium Cello Bag into which I added a packet of Peppermint Hot Chocolate, a candy cane and a chocolate covered spoon which I  wrapped in cellophane and secured with Red Baker's Twine.  Next, I  added a row of Red & White Polka Dot Washi Tape onto the bottom of a Small Glassine Bag.   I die cut a snowflake shape from a piece of Brown Kraft Cardstock and then folded it over the top of the Glassine Bag and wrapped some Red Baker's Twine around the treat bag a couple of times, securing it with a bow and a tag which she stamped "Sweet Treats" on using the Little Wishes and Ho Ho Ho sets from Paper Sweeties.

Debbie TKJ #151 (3)I secured the top of my {sweet treat} gift bag with a length of Natural Hemp Cording and tied on a tag made using a Blackboard Tag and added a die cut snowflake stamped with a sentiment from the Have a Holly Jolly Holiday stamp set, a Red & White Chenille Candy Cane and a couple of fun silver jingle bells!

Debbie TKJ #151 (1)I am hosting a card class, cookie exchange and card exchange event at my house this evening and I made one of these sweet treat bags for each attendee!  I love giving handmade from the heart gifts to family and friends all year long, but especially during the holidays!

Please be sure to visit The Kraft Journal challenge blog to check out the delicious inspiration from the rest of the teamies this week, and then I hope you'll have time to place along with this week's 'Something New' challenge for a chance to win some goodness from The Kraft Outlet Shop!

Visions of Sugarplums – Grand Finale!

VOSP 2013 ad 2 aWell, all good things must come to an end, and sadly, today is the final day of project shares for the Visions of Sugarplums Designer's Hop!

papersweeties-debbie-12-6-13(2)This card was super easy to create!  I inked the red cardstock base with some cream paint and then machine zig-zag stitched some pretty green holiday patterned paper to it.  I added a strip of Washi tape at the bottom and a pretty red glittered chipboard heart.

papersweeties-debbie-12-6-13(3)The pretty wreath, pinecones, berries and sentiment were stamped using the Season of Love set directly onto a white paper doilie ... perfect!

papersweeties-debbie-12-6-13(1)And last, I added some gingham ribbon, twine and Rusty Jingle Bells to give this card a rustic, homespun feeling!

Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop with Paper Sweeties!

WinterCoffeeLoversHop

It's that time again, friends!  I'm excited to share a little something 'sweet' with y'all today for the 2016 Winter Coffee Lovers' Blog Hop!

papersweeties-debbie-12-9-16(2)

This cutie patootie card was simple to whip up.  CAS at this time of the year works for me, how about you?

papersweeties-debbie-12-9-16(1)

I die cut the cocoa mug from red glitter paper, die cut the steam from white cardstock, stamped and die cut the peppermint stick and stamped the sentiment.  I adhered all die cut pieces to the card base, added some sparkly sequins and then faux stitching around the edges of the card base.  Easy peesy!

papersweeties-debbie-12-9-16(4)

To go along with the cocoa card, I whipped up a little sweet treat of Peppermint Ghirardelli hot cocoa packets wrapped with some beautiful tulle and then created a little tag and holiday nosegay!  For the tag, I die cut the mitten twice, once with cardstock and once with felt for the cuff.  I stamped the 'cocoa' sentiment, die cut it and then adhered to the mitten using a foam dot.  I stamped the 'yes please' sentiment directly onto the mitten base and then added some sparkly sequins to tie the gift to the card.

papersweeties-debbie-12-9-16(3)

I tied the mitten tag onto the tulle bow using button twine and then added a candy cane and some fun jingle bells!  In my world, every holiday project 'needs' candy canes and jingle bells!!

papersweeties-debbie-12-9-16(5)

I sent this sweet treat to my son and his girlfriend ... I've been doing a secret Santa for them all month long in December since they have both just started new jobs and can't make it home for the holiday this year.  I thought receiving a little something fun in the mail every couple of days leading up to Christmas would be fun for them!  Here are the goodies I used from Paper Sweeties to make this adorable little set:
