Show us your dream space!

Hi crafty friends!  I'm popping in on the Paper Sweeties blog today to share a couple pics of my creative space with ya'll!

DSC03646

I was contacted by WeWork to write a blog post about my creative space and share a few photos!  My craft room is my FAVORITE room in my home -- and it's 'so me'!  If you're interested in finding out more about WeWork, check out their many locations to see if there is a space near you!

DSCN1486

This is my work station where I design and illustrate all of my Paper Sweeties images before they are produced as acrylic stamps!

DSC03648

The paint color on the walls is Behr Paris White from Home Depot.

DSC03649

I live in a Victorian style home and I love anything old, antique and shabby!  I have a lot of this type of furniture in my craft room to house all of my supplies and tools!  An antique oak dresser holds lots of supplies!  This was first used in 1990 as a dresser in my first son's nursery!

DSC03645

I purchased a table constructed from shutters for my room -- it works as a perfect station to house my hot glue gun ... an essential tool for all of my crafty projects!

DSC03651

I store all my dies and cutting machine below this desk in an old picnic basket that I spray painted white!

DSC03652

My craft space doubles as a guest bedroom when we have company, so I have a pretty white iron day bed that I use to sit on when creating.

DSC03653

My craft table is an antique 1940's enamel top kitchen table with pull out sides!

DSC03654

When I have friends over to craft together, I pull out the sides ... when it's just me, I leave the sides retracted so the table top is smaller.

DSC03660

I white-washed an old pine pie safe -- it holds lots of bits and bobs of supplies and tools!

DSC03655

DSC03656

DSC02316

DSC03657

These shelves are old and handmade by my grandfather!  They held toys in my sons' playroom for years, but now they are painted Apple Green and hold all my treasured crafty supplies!

DSC02315

White wicker baskets and enamel pails & buckets hold bits and bobs of embellishments!

DSC03659

A storage closet holds stamps, paper, embossing folders, etc.

And last, but certainly not least ... my favorite little crafting buddy has her place of honor in my craft space!  This my my precious little toy poodle, Hershey!  She is never far from mama!

And, hop on over to the Paper Sweeties You Tube channel to check out my creative way to store all of my Paper Sweeties stamps and dies!

Thanks for stopping by today for a little peek of my crafty space!  Now it's YOUR turn ... share a photo of your craft table/work space/creative room -- I LOVE to get creative ideas on how others store and organize their rooms!  I'll keep the inLinkz gallery open until November 30th.  On December 1st I'll pick the most creative room and/or storage idea/solution and the winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to spend in the Paper Sweeties boutique!

Ready, set ... show us YOUR space!

12 Days of Christmas BLOG HOP!

Hello crafty friends!  I'm super excited to be sharing a little something I created for today's leg of the 12 Days of Christmas Designer's Blog Hop!  A big thank you to Lisa for inviting me to create something to share with everyone today!

1000256_10152554640085961_499459650_n

At this time of the year, I'm always looking for inspiration ideas for holiday cards to create that are festive, yet fairly flat and easy to mail out to my family and friends!  No bumpy embellishments because the postage costs are so expensive when you're sending out so many cards!

papersweeties-debbie-12-4-13(4)I created this 'homespun' holiday card using the Homespun Holidays, Make the Season Bright and Season of Love stamp sets along with the Homespun Holidays Sweet Cuts die!

papersweeties-debbie-12-4-13(5)The Sweet Cuts dies that coordinate with the Paper Sweeties stamps make it easy peesy for you to stamp, cut and decorate your cards, tags, scrapbook pages, gifts and home decor items!  No more fussy cutting -- yippiee!

papersweeties-debbie-12-4-13(6)

I added a snipett of lace trim, a couple of candy dots and some machine zig-zag stitching around the base of the card to complete my design ... and this little pretty will fit into a standard A-2 envelope with one postage stamp 🙂

You should have arrived here from Lisa's blog.

Next stop on the hop is  Pam's blog.

Photo Inspiration #195And now, I'd like to share my projects created for this week's new challenge at The Shabby Tea Room - 'Terrific Tags'!  Create something this week that includes a tag - yay!

DSCN1707I made these little favor treats for the annual holiday bunco party I hosted yesterday for my girlfriends!  We enjoyed a holiday tea party and I had one of these waiting for each of the girls at each of their place settings!

DSCN1706I used a variety of stamp sets from Paper Sweeties to create the sentiment banners:  Ho Ho Ho, Make the Season Bright, Noel and Season of Love - easy peesy!DSCN1705And then I die cut ornament shapes to use as tags on my favors and attached them to the favor wrapper!  The recipients can slide off the wrapper to enjoy the flavored coffees inside and then slide the wrapper back onto the packaging to save as a pretty little holiday decoration -- cute added to a basket of holiday teas or coffees sitting on the kitchen counter or on the kitchen windowsill!

Sweetest holiday season – TKJ #149

This week The Kraft Journal #149 brings us a sketch challenge ... I LOVE sketch challenges!!

sketch149

I decided to create a {sweet treat} gift idea using stamped sentiments on a oval die cut and tag for the oval and square elements of the sketch!  I began with a Kraft CD Envelope which I covered with patterned papers.  Next I cut a white paper doilie in half and adhered half of an Oval Brown Kraft Label onto it before adhering the doilie to the base of the CD Envelope.

Debbie TKJ #149 (3)

Next I created a pretty paper ruffle using a Vintage Dictionary Page and then tied a length of White Twill Tape around the center of the CD Envelope.  Red Baker's Twine was wrapped around the Twill Tape and two Rusty Jingle Bells were tied on.  A fluffy Red & White Chenille Candy Cane was slipped under the Baker's Twine and secured with hot glue.

Debbie TKJ #149 (2)

I stamped the sentiments onto Buff Ivory Cardstock and a Scalloped Grungy Prim Tag.  The oval sentiment was die cut and adhered directly to the base of the CD Envelope.  The Grungy Prim Tag was attached to the Candy Cane with a Memo Pin and then a tiny, red button was added.

Debbie TKJ #149 (1)

A white paper doilie was wrapped around an envelope of Peppermint Hot Chocolate and tied on with Red Baker's Twine.  Marshmallows were added to a clear cellophane sleeve and the treats were slipped inside the CD Envelope.  I love giving party favors to guests who visit my house all year round ... I'm hosting a holiday progressive party for my dinner club early in December and each couple will go home with one of these {sweet treats}!

Please be sure to visit The Kraft Journal challenge blog to be inspired by the rest of the teamies projects for this week's sketch challenge, and then I hope you'll have time to play along for your chance to win an awesome prize from The Kraft Outlet Shop!
