A Special Tea Party with The Kraft Journal!

Debbie TKJ 4-25-14(4)

Today I am sharing a tea-themed gift set she created with all the wonderful packaging options offered at The Kraft Outlet!  There are so many fun options to choose from to help make your creative visions a reality!  First, I created a birthday card by cutting a scallop shaped base using Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock and inking the edges with cream paint to create a time-worn look.  Next I layered a white paper doilie and then a pretty little tea pot image she stamped directly onto patterned paper using the Tea For Two stamp set and then die cut using the Tea For Two Sweet Cuts die.  Next I added a sentiment banner I stamped onto Buff Ivory Cardstock using the Occasions stamp set - inking the edges with Twill paint.  I created a sweet little 'tea bag tag' by stamping the heart image onto Buff Ivory Cardstock using the Little Wishes stamp set, stamping the sentiment using the It's Tea Time stamp set, die cutting using the Beautiful Little Wishes Sweet Cuts die set and then attaching it to the tea pot using Robin Egg Baker's Twine.  Last, some Robin Egg Sequins and a pretty satin flower were added for a little pop of color at the top of the tea pot.

I personalized the back of this card using the Hand Stamped By stamp set!

Debbie TKJ 4-25-14(3)

Next, I created a sweet 'Tea For Two' tea bag set by wrapping two Berry Blossom White tea bags with a length of Baby Pink Berry Seam Binding and then creating a bow using another snipett of the Baby Pink Berry and a piece of Cake Crumbs Seam Binding.  A tag was stamped onto Buff Ivory Cardstock using the Beautiful stamp set and cut with the coordinating Beautiful Little Wishes Sweet Cuts die set, a sentiment added using the Tea For Two stamp set, a tiny tea cup and steam were stamped onto another piece of Buff Ivory Cardstock using the I'm Having a Tea Party stamp set and then this little treat was finished by adding three beautiful iridescent Bubblegum Sequins!

Debbie TKJ 4-25-14(5)

I created another treat to include in this gift set by adding some Pink and White Polka Dot Washi Tape to the bottom of a Small Glassine Bag.  I die cut a doilie shape using a piece of Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock, folded it in half and placed it over the Glassine Bag (which has a couple of Raspberry Tea Cookies placed inside).  The doilie is held in place using a Tiny Black Wooden Clothespin.  I created a pretty little nosegay using a Chipboard Office Button, a pretty satin flower and a couple of leaves cut from a piece of Burlap. To finish off this little sweet treat, I stamped a Grungy Prim Shipping Tag with a sentiment using the Join Me For Tea stamp set, added a couple of Bubblegum Sequins and then tied it onto the nosegay using a length of Robin Egg Baker's Twine onto which I tied a couple of Rusty Bells.

Debbie TKJ 4-25-14(1)

I created a pretty bag to hold all of the gift set elements by adding a strip of Pink and White Stripe Washi Tape onto the bottom of a Mini Polka Dot Merchandise Bag.  Next I folded a white paper doilie over the top of the bag and added a length of Natural Burlap Ribbon which she frayed the ends to give it a shabby look.  I adhered a pretty pink tulle bow and a couple of 'leaves' I created using a Robin Egg Paper Straw.  The doilie is held in place using a glittered library clip.

Debbie TKJ 4-25-14(2)

And there you have it ... a sweet treat gift set so much fun to make ... and even more fun to give and receive!   Please visit The Kraft Journal Challenge Blog to see the complete post on this gift set!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Hugs - xoxo

Meet the Design Team

Debbie(headshot)Debbie Marcinkiewicz
Owner/Illustrator/Paper Sweeties Creative Designer

I have been happily married for 31 years, and my husband and I are blessed with two, amazing sons!  We reside in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and love the beach!  I am a former Court Reporter turned full-time stay at home wife and mommy with a passion for crafting! I have dabbled in just about every type of craft through the years.  In the late 90's I owned my own sewing business in which I handmade doll clothes and quilts.  It was a very natural progression to move from quilting to paper crafting … the same basic techniques can be applied transitioning fabric to paper!  I began paper craft designing full time in 2005 and find so much joy in inspiring others through my tiny, handmade from the heart treasures!  Paper Sweeties™ LLC has been a dream of mine since the original design concept was developed in 2010.  I launched my line in August 2012 - one of those 'pinch me' moments that life treats us to!  I am excited and honored to share my {sweet} little stamps, dies and goodies with you!

Jinny Newlin
Paper Sweeties Creative Designer

My family and I live in a small suburb of Kansas City, Kansas, just over an hour and a half north of where I grew up. I am a former kindergarten teacher turned adoring wife, of 16 years, to BJ and stay-at-home, homeschool mom to Ezekiel (14), Adina (9), and Kaden (3). When I’m not taking care of or playing with my family, you can find me cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, taking pictures, blogging, and of course, paper crafting. My love for the latter started, over 15 years ago, at a Stampin’ Up workshop; but I have been creating with any and every form of crafting media, that I could get my hands on, since I was old enough to hold a crayon. I’ve been honored to have had a number of published works of art, as well as to get to design for some of my most favorite manufacturers and challenge blogs! I hope that I can inspire you all to get creating.

Julie Tucker-Wolek
Paper Sweeties Creative Designer

My name is Julie Tucker-Wolek and I have been scrapping since my son was born 17 years ago, but really got into it as a major passion about 8 years ago when my daughter was born.

I create everything! Cards, layouts and altered projects!

Karen Letchworth
Paper Sweeties Creative Designer

Hello, dear friends of Paper Sweeties! My name is Karen Letchworth, and I'm happy and blessed to be the newest Design Team Member here at Paper Sweeties. I've been crafting in different ways since I was a very little girl. But nothing can compare to my love for card-making; and Paper Sweeties is the best place to find all things adorable for that purpose. I've been married to my Police Officer hubby, Darren, for over 31 years; and together we've had the privilege and blessing of raising three wonderful children (two married daughters with wonderful husbands, and our "baby boy" who is a Senior in High School this year). I'm a Northern girl who moved out to sunny Las Vegas in 1989, and we now call it our home. I look forward to getting to know you all, and I hope that my creations will inspire you to get LOTS of sweet new products from Paper Sweeties, and I look forward to seeing your creations as well.

Kathy Schweinfurth
Paper Sweeties Creative Designer

Hi, all! I'm Kathy Schweinfurth and am beyond excited and honored to be part of the Paper Sweeties Design Team!! Born and raised in Queens, NY, I moved to Columbus, OH in 1980. I live with my fab hubby, Mark, of 20 + years and our wonderful college-bound daughter, Danielle. I'm an Events Manager during business hours and a card maker every other waking hour I can find! Crafting has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, but in 1997 a love affair with stamping began and has been my passion ever since. I LOVE that I can share my obsession (umm, hobby) with so many others all around the world and now with the very talented Paper Sweeties Design Team!

Paper Sweeties Creative Designer

I've been married to my best friend Adam for 8 years, and we have two handsome boys, Beckett (7) and Greyson (19 months)!! We live on our family farm, and I enjoy EVERY aspect of living a rural life. I'm a Certified Surgical Technician, but I'm very blessed to be a stay-at-home mom. I enjoy crafting in many ways, baking/cooking, gardening, singing, nature and photography. I LOVE to stamp and have been doing so for the last 3 years. I LOVE all of the inspiration and the creative people I've found/met online and through other events!! It’s such an AMAMZING Hobby!! I also LOVE to try new techniques and experiment with my supplies!! I've been LUCKY enough to become a published artist and I have had many of my creations published in CARDS Magazine!! This has been such a DREAM come true for me and I look forward to what the future holds!! I look forward to inspiring you with the AMAZING Paper Sweeties products!! I can’t even begin to explain how HONORED and EXCITED I am to have the opportunity to design with this AWESOME Design Team/Company!! THANKS so much for welcoming me!

Lilian Forsyth
Paper Sweeties Creative Designer

I was born in Taiwan, grew up in Brazil and I’ve been living in the US since 2006. I have been married for 12 years and I have two little boys and a Ragdoll (Angel, the cat).

I started rubber stamping in 2004 when a friend invited me to make cards with other ladies. I got addicted right away!

I enjoy making cards, scrapbook layouts and mini-albums! My other hobbies include: photography, drawing, arm-knitting and baking ... just to name a few!

Lisa Bzibziak
Paper Sweeties Creative Designer

Hi! I am the mother of two very awesome young men. In my "spare" time I am in accounting, but I try not to let that get in the way of my creating. I started scrap booking about 20 years ago when my boys were very young, and I immediately loved it. What's better than creating and getting together with close friends to laugh, snack, cut and glue stuff! I discovered around the time that my boys were teenagers that I already had everything I needed to start making cards ... AND instead of always using boy colors, I could use pretty pinks and ribbons and flowers -- not to mention glitter, oh my! I am so very excited to be here creating alongside Debbie and her troop of so very talented ladies. I think my favorite part of paper crafting is the community of loving and caring people I've met along the way. My favorite crafty saying is "There are no mistakes in paper crafting ... just opportunities to embellish." It's so true!

Hi there! I am from central Alberta, Canada. I am a color-addicted paper crafter, crocheter and sometimes cross stitcher…I am a runner who loves coffee, candles, stars, snowmen, long walks, and reading. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family but also alone time in my crafty space 🙂 I was a Stampin’ Up! Demo for 13+ years then decided to branch out and explore all the wonderful crafty options out there – and boy oh boy – I have found some treasures! I am so excited to be a part of this amazingly talented group! Cheers!

I have been stamping for about 10 years. I love all styles ... from Shabby Chic to Clean and Simple to Mixed Media and everything else in between! I love trying new techniques. I am constantly being inspired by all the beautiful creations that I see on Blogs, YouTube and Pinterest. I started blogging so I could share what I learn, and maybe inspire someone else to try this beautiful art of stamping!

I'm very honored to be on the Paper Sweeties' Design Team! I thank Debbie for giving me this wonderful opportunity! My husband and I live in NW Ohio. We have been married for nearly thirty-four years. We have one grown son, Jeremy, and one huge gentle soul of a dog, a German Shepherd named Shadow. I work party time as a nurse at a hospital. In my spare time I love to make cards, scrapbook, read and crochet. In the past I've quilted, cross stitched and painted. My favorite interest is making cards. Isn't it wonderful to make a card made with love and give it to someone? People really do appreciate receiving such a gift! Debbie creates the most adorable stamps. They are truly sweet and precious! I hope I can inspire you to make a card or project using the sweet and wonderful Paper Sweeties stamps!

Michelle Bala

Hello there! I am Michelle Bala, and I am thrilled to be part of the Paper Sweeties Design Team! Thanks Debbie! I am a wife and a mom. I have three children, two daughters and a son. They keep me very busy. However, I make sure to set aside plenty of time to stamp and create cards! I can't wait to share with you all the projects I am creating with these beautiful stamps!

Hello Paper Sweeties Friends! I live in Cary, NC with my hubby, Dave, an ER RN, our dog, Riley, and cat, Socrates. I have a degree in Psychology. I was a SAHM and now a SAHW. We have a grown son in Chapel Hill, NC and a grown son/daughter-in-law in Edmond, OK. I've always been artsy and crafty since a child. I took painting lessons as a teen. I started scrapbooking in 2000, ventured to card making in 2005 using stickers. In 2009, I found stamping and blogging and have been obsessed ever since! I still do other crafty projects, am an avid amateur photography buff and do some furniture refurbishing for myself. Outside of the crafty world, I'm a HUGE Tar Heels (UNC) fan and New England Patriots fan. I've known Debbie for a couple years since we met online and realized we're practically neighbors! I've been to her beautiful home and her card classes as well as bought a lot of Paper Sweeties and played in the PS challenges. I'm thrilled to now be a part of her Design Team and looking forward to providing some additional sweet inspiration for Paper Sweeties friends!

Paper Sweeties Inspiration #44:

HOW will YOU be inspired this month — colors, theme, shapes, patterns?  I was inspired by the colors in this yummy photo (CLICK on the photos for close up views):

I love the beautiful rose and leaves from the Party Time stamp and die sets!  I stamped the rose onto the card base a couple times using different colors and a masking technique, then stamped and die cut a blue flower and yellow flower and added them on top of the previously stamped flowers.

I used the Sweet Borders die set to create the colorful scalloped borders and added some pretty sequins for a pop of sparkle!  The sentiment was stamped using the You Are Fab stamp set!

I had some fabric flowers that matched this color palette, so I decided to make a second card ...

... so pretty!

I used these goodies from the Paper Sweeties boutique to make these cards:
