Sharing some organizational inspiration!

Hello crafty friends!  This month we don't have any new products releasing from Paper Sweeties, so the Design Teamies and I are sharing some projects we whipped up using previously released goodies from our shop!

I purchased a Doodlebug calendar clipboard and set of calendar pages about a year ago and stashed them away telling myself that this project would come in handy to keep appointments and bookings when we got our Bed & Breakfast up and running!

My intent was to hang this in the kitchen to keep daily appointments/bookings front and center for the hubby and I to refer to so we know when the B&B is booked, when I have to grocery shop, clean, etc.!

This calendar page was just too fun to decorate!  I wanted to keep this more clean and simple than my planner pages where I kinda go crazy adding lots of stuff!

This way it would be easier for the hubs to read too!  I think my planner pages would overwhelm him!

What do you think???  Although now that I'm looking, I kept July kinda clean and simple ... at least for me!

These pages were organized using stamps from #papersweeties and some cute stickers from Doodlebug!  You can create something similar using these goodies from the shop:

A Special Tea Party with The Kraft Journal!

Debbie TKJ 4-25-14(4)

Today I am sharing a tea-themed gift set she created with all the wonderful packaging options offered at The Kraft Outlet!  There are so many fun options to choose from to help make your creative visions a reality!  First, I created a birthday card by cutting a scallop shaped base using Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock and inking the edges with cream paint to create a time-worn look.  Next I layered a white paper doilie and then a pretty little tea pot image she stamped directly onto patterned paper using the Tea For Two stamp set and then die cut using the Tea For Two Sweet Cuts die.  Next I added a sentiment banner I stamped onto Buff Ivory Cardstock using the Occasions stamp set - inking the edges with Twill paint.  I created a sweet little 'tea bag tag' by stamping the heart image onto Buff Ivory Cardstock using the Little Wishes stamp set, stamping the sentiment using the It's Tea Time stamp set, die cutting using the Beautiful Little Wishes Sweet Cuts die set and then attaching it to the tea pot using Robin Egg Baker's Twine.  Last, some Robin Egg Sequins and a pretty satin flower were added for a little pop of color at the top of the tea pot.

Debbie TKJ 4-25-14(6)

I personalized the back of this card using the Hand Stamped By stamp set!

Debbie TKJ 4-25-14(3)

Next, I created a sweet 'Tea For Two' tea bag set by wrapping two Berry Blossom White tea bags with a length of Baby Pink Berry Seam Binding and then creating a bow using another snipett of the Baby Pink Berry and a piece of Cake Crumbs Seam Binding.  A tag was stamped onto Buff Ivory Cardstock using the Beautiful stamp set and cut with the coordinating Beautiful Little Wishes Sweet Cuts die set, a sentiment added using the Tea For Two stamp set, a tiny tea cup and steam were stamped onto another piece of Buff Ivory Cardstock using the I'm Having a Tea Party stamp set and then this little treat was finished by adding three beautiful iridescent Bubblegum Sequins!

Debbie TKJ 4-25-14(5)

I created another treat to include in this gift set by adding some Pink and White Polka Dot Washi Tape to the bottom of a Small Glassine Bag.  I die cut a doilie shape using a piece of Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock, folded it in half and placed it over the Glassine Bag (which has a couple of Raspberry Tea Cookies placed inside).  The doilie is held in place using a Tiny Black Wooden Clothespin.  I created a pretty little nosegay using a Chipboard Office Button, a pretty satin flower and a couple of leaves cut from a piece of Burlap. To finish off this little sweet treat, I stamped a Grungy Prim Shipping Tag with a sentiment using the Join Me For Tea stamp set, added a couple of Bubblegum Sequins and then tied it onto the nosegay using a length of Robin Egg Baker's Twine onto which I tied a couple of Rusty Bells.

Debbie TKJ 4-25-14(1)

I created a pretty bag to hold all of the gift set elements by adding a strip of Pink and White Stripe Washi Tape onto the bottom of a Mini Polka Dot Merchandise Bag.  Next I folded a white paper doilie over the top of the bag and added a length of Natural Burlap Ribbon which she frayed the ends to give it a shabby look.  I adhered a pretty pink tulle bow and a couple of 'leaves' I created using a Robin Egg Paper Straw.  The doilie is held in place using a glittered library clip.

Debbie TKJ 4-25-14(2)

And there you have it ... a sweet treat gift set so much fun to make ... and even more fun to give and receive!   Please visit The Kraft Journal Challenge Blog to see the complete post on this gift set!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Hugs - xoxo

Some EXCITING news to share!

Hello friends!  Well, I bet most of you have heard the buzz by now, but if you haven't, I finally get to spill the beans!  My sweet friend, Lesley Croghan, is starting a new challenge beginning in January 2014 and guess what ...

Designer Badge... I have been invited to create for the inaugural the card Concept design team in the 'Shabby Chic' category ... LOVE!!!  For those of you unfamiliar with the guidelines surrounding the Shabby Chic esthetic, here you go:

Shabby Chic and Vintage

  • the use of used, worn or inexpensive components to make stylish goods
  • distressed or sponged edges
  • old feel-antiqued
  • lots of embellishments
  • ribbons or lace
  • lots of layers

Those that know me well, already know that I adore anything shabby, old, worn and antique!  YUM!  I enjoy going to antique shows and finding old treasures to add to my cards and paper crafted projects!  I love piling my creations high with lots of bits and bobs of sweet little treasures -- creating keepsakes suitable for framing in some instances!

papersweeties-debbie-11-11-13(1)Let's go through the shabby checklist, shall we?  Used, worn, inexpensive components - check!  Distressed or sponges layers - I inked mine with vanilla paint - check!  Old/antique feeling with lots of embellishments - check!  Ribbons or lace - check!   Lots of layers - check!

Winner BadgeThis shabby little sweetie was chosen as the winning favorite at Festive Friday for last week's aqua, red & cream challenge!  Materials list: Homespun Holidays, Ho Ho Ho, Homespun Holidays Sweet Cuts, Rusty Jingle Bells, Red & White Chenille Candy Cane, October Afternoon - Make It Merry patterned paper, blue chenille trim - Webster's Pages.

A huge thank you to Miss Lesley for inviting me to join the line-up of talented designers who will be creating for The Card Concept challenges!  We are all in for a treat to be inspired by these lovely ladies!  Stay tuned for this new and exciting challenge to launch after the holidays in January ... and until then, happy stamping my friends!

A Moxie Fab Homespun Holiday!

Hello crafty friends and welcome to a very special post today!  I'm delighted to be joining a HUGE group of talented paper crafters today to honor Cath Edvalson - creator of the inspirational Moxie Fab World blog!  Cath will be leaving her job as a contributing editor for Paper Crafts Magazine this month, so a group of us got together to host a Designer's Blog Hop today to help celebrate Cath and show her just how much she will be missed!

papersweeties-debbie-11-9-13(2)I have been a fan and follower of the wonderful Moxie Fab World blog for several years ... and have found so much inspiration in the weekly challenges offered there!  A couple of the very first challenges I ever won at the beginning of my paper crafting 'career' were from projects I created and submitted to Cath's Moxie Fab World challenges:

Challenge Winner Button

8/4/10 - Moxie Fab World Card Style: Shabby Chic winner!

10/13/10 - Moxie Fab World Holiday Cards & More: Season's Giftings winner!

11/2/11 - Moxie Fab World Textured to Perfection winner!

7/16/12 - Moxie Fabber of the Week!

papersweeties-debbie-11-9-13(1)I love making handmade from the heart paper crafted treasures all year round, but when the holidays roll around, I am so in my 'element'!  Christmas truly is the most wonderful time of the year for me, and I so enjoy creating pretty things from paper and glue to help celebrate the season!  Cath's Moxie holiday challenges were always at the top of my list of favorites to be inspired by and create along with!  Cath was always so encouraging and sweet through the comments she left on my little projects -- the fact that she took the time to leave me a little love throughout my crafting journey always touched my heart!

papersweeties-debbie-11-9-13(3)I created a holiday card in honor of Cath with a homespun feeling -- all warm and cozy with gingham and dots, lace and buttons, tea-stained hem tape and rusty bells!  I'm thinking this card will become my 2013 family holiday card ... smitten with it's warmth and charm ... what do you think?  {click on photos for larger views}

I used these *new* holiday goodies from the Paper Sweeties boutique which are LIVE in the shop as of today -- released EARLY this month for all of your holiday crafting needs:

Homespun Holidays stamp set

Homespun Holidays Sweet Cuts die

Rusty Jingle Bells

I hand tea-stained the hem tape.  The buttons and twine are from Papertrey Ink.  The gorgeous patterned paper is from October Afternoon - 2012 and I've been hoarding it in my stash ... LOVE 🙂

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas – MM#68!

Hi crafty friends!    I’m popping in today to share one last little something sweet that I recently created for this week’s #68 sketch challenge at Merry Monday!  I’ve been delighted to join Lesley and the MM girlies this month as their featured designer -- I'm sad that the month is just about done!!

I used some Cosmo Cricket chipboard pieces from my stash along with PTI, DCWV and October Afternoon holiday papers to create my card for today!  Doesn't that chipboard birdie make you smile??  I added a flower button on the chipboard snowflakd, twine and a rusty jingle bell to the chipboard package and a row of yummy fabric rosettes.

I used the Banner Wishes and Sending Holiday Cheer stamp sets to create the three banners and the O' Christmas Tree stamp set to stamp the sentiment on the top of the card - stamping directly onto the patterned paper.

Thanks again to Lesley and all the MM girlies for inviting me to join them this month ... I had a blast creating with the teamies!  Thank you also to all of you who left me such sweet comments along the way - hugs - xoxo!

Meet the Design Team

Debbie(headshot)Debbie Marcinkiewicz
Owner/Illustrator/Paper Sweeties Creative Designer

I have been happily married for 32 years, and my husband and I are blessed with two, amazing sons!  We reside in Carthage, North Carolina where we own a beautiful, circa 1870 Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast!  I am a former Court Reporter turned full-time stay at home wife and mommy with a passion for crafting! I have dabbled in just about every type of craft through the years.  In the late 90's I owned my own sewing business making handmade doll clothes and quilts.  It was a very natural progression to move from quilting to paper crafting … the same basic techniques can be applied transitioning fabric to paper!  I began paper craft designing full time in 2005 and find so much joy in inspiring others through my tiny, handmade from the heart treasures!  Paper Sweeties™ LLC has been a dream of mine since the original design concept was developed in 2010.  I launched my line in August 2012 - one of those 'pinch me' moments that life treats us to!  I am excited and honored to share my {sweet} little stamps, dies and goodies with you!

Jinny Newlin
Paper Sweeties Creative Designer

My family and I live in Texas, and I am a former kindergarten teacher turned adoring wife, of 17 years, to BJ and stay-at-home, home school mom to Ezekiel (14), Adina (9), and Kaden (3). When I’m not taking care of or playing with my family, you can find me cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, taking pictures, blogging, and of course, paper crafting. My love for the latter started, over 15 years ago, at a Stampin’ Up workshop; but I have been creating with any and every form of crafting media, that I could get my hands on, since I was old enough to hold a crayon. I’ve been honored to have had a number of published works of art, as well as to get to design for some of my most favorite manufacturers and challenge blogs! I hope that I can inspire you all to get creating.

Hello, dear friends of Paper Sweeties! My name is Karen Letchworth, and I'm happy and blessed to be the newest Design Team Member here at Paper Sweeties. I've been crafting in different ways since I was a very little girl. But nothing can compare to my love for card-making; and Paper Sweeties is the best place to find all things adorable for that purpose. I've been married to my Police Officer hubby, Darren, for over 31 years; and together we've had the privilege and blessing of raising three wonderful children (two married daughters with wonderful husbands, and our "baby boy" who is a Senior in High School this year). I'm a Northern girl who moved out to sunny Las Vegas in 1989, and we now call it our home. I look forward to getting to know you all, and I hope that my creations will inspire you to get LOTS of sweet new products from Paper Sweeties, and I look forward to seeing your creations as well.

Larissa Heskett
Paper Sweeties Creative Designer

I've been married to my best friend Adam for 8 years, and we have two handsome boys, Beckett (7) and Greyson (19 months)!! We live on our family farm, and I enjoy EVERY aspect of living a rural life. I'm a Certified Surgical Technician, but I'm very blessed to be a stay-at-home mom. I enjoy crafting in many ways, baking/cooking, gardening, singing, nature and photography. I LOVE to stamp and have been doing so for the last 3 years. I LOVE all of the inspiration and the creative people I've found/met online and through other events!! It’s such an AMAMZING Hobby!! I also LOVE to try new techniques and experiment with my supplies!! I've been LUCKY enough to become a published artist and I have had many of my creations published in CARDS Magazine!! This has been such a DREAM come true for me and I look forward to what the future holds!! I look forward to inspiring you with the AMAZING Paper Sweeties products!! I can’t even begin to explain how HONORED and EXCITED I am to have the opportunity to design with this AWESOME Design Team/Company!! THANKS so much for welcoming me!

Lilian Forsyth
Paper Sweeties Creative Designer

I was born in Taiwan, grew up in Brazil and I’ve been living in the US since 2006. I have been married for 12 years and I have two little boys and a Ragdoll (Angel, the cat).

I started rubber stamping in 2004 when a friend invited me to make cards with other ladies. I got addicted right away!

I enjoy making cards, scrapbook layouts and mini-albums! My other hobbies include: photography, drawing, arm-knitting and baking ... just to name a few!

Lisa Bzibziak
Paper Sweeties Creative Designer

Hi! I am the mother of two very awesome young men. In my "spare" time I am in accounting, but I try not to let that get in the way of my creating. I started scrap booking about 20 years ago when my boys were very young, and I immediately loved it. What's better than creating and getting together with close friends to laugh, snack, cut and glue stuff! I discovered around the time that my boys were teenagers that I already had everything I needed to start making cards ... AND instead of always using boy colors, I could use pretty pinks and ribbons and flowers -- not to mention glitter, oh my! I am so very excited to be here creating alongside Debbie and her troop of so very talented ladies. I think my favorite part of paper crafting is the community of loving and caring people I've met along the way. My favorite crafty saying is "There are no mistakes in paper crafting ... just opportunities to embellish." It's so true!

Lisa Golzbein
Paper Sweeties Creative Designer

Hi my name is Lisa, I live in sunny South Florida and I am known as “mom” to three wonderful children and three fur babies. I am also a Registered Nurse in a NICU where I take care of the most precious babies on Earth. I have been a paper crafter for over ten years and I enjoy all types of DIY projects. I used to design custom invitations and announcements which led to scrapbooking which ultimately led to card making. My favorite of all is card making and I spend most of my very little spare time creating my “OhSoCute” projects. I first started designing for Debbie years ago in her Shabby Little Tea Room, and I am grateful to her for giving me the opportunity to design with her again! I can’t wait to put my Oh So Cute twist on Debbie’s precious Paper Sweeties line of stamps and dies!

Taylor Golzbein

Hi my name is Taylor Golzbein and I live in South Florida. I’m a proud dog mom to my lovely fur baby, Sophie. I have been an avid planner for almost 4 years, and have loved every minute of it. I enjoy sharing my planner layouts each week. I have the privilege of crafting with my mom who also happens to be my best friend. She inspires me everyday and I’m grateful to share all of this with her! I’m so excited to be joining the Planner Team at Paper Sweeties! Thank you Debbie for the opportunity to design with your sweet stamps and such a wonderfully talented group!

I have been stamping for about 10 years. I love all styles ... from Shabby Chic to Clean and Simple to Mixed Media and everything else in between! I love trying new techniques. I am constantly being inspired by all the beautiful creations that I see on Blogs, YouTube and Pinterest. I started blogging so I could share what I learn, and maybe inspire someone else to try this beautiful art of stamping!

I'm very honored to be on the Paper Sweeties' Design Team! I thank Debbie for giving me this wonderful opportunity! My husband and I live in NW Ohio. We have been married for nearly thirty-four years. We have one grown son, Jeremy, and one huge gentle soul of a dog, a German Shepherd named Shadow. I work party time as a nurse at a hospital. In my spare time I love to make cards, scrapbook, read and crochet. In the past I've quilted, cross stitched and painted. My favorite interest is making cards. Isn't it wonderful to make a card made with love and give it to someone? People really do appreciate receiving such a gift! Debbie creates the most adorable stamps. They are truly sweet and precious! I hope I can inspire you to make a card or project using the sweet and wonderful Paper Sweeties stamps!
