Paper Sweeties Inspiration Challenge #33 – Red, White & Blue

Hello crafty friends!!  It’s that time of the month again … time for a NEW challenge at Paper Sweeties!  Before we share the new inspiration board, let’s congratulate last month’s challenge winner … the votes are in and I’m thrilled to announce our latest winner:  Jen Carter!

JenCarter

Contact us, Jen, to claim your $20 gift certificate for a shopping spree and get the challenge details for your Guest Designer spot next month!

Paper Sweeties hosts monthly challenges here on the blog! Each 1st of the month we will have a brand new inspiration board to help spark your creativity!  It’s as easy as 1-2-3 to create, share and win:

1. CREATE a NEW project based on the current inspiration board using any of your favorite crafty supplies — receive an EXTRA VOTE if you use something from Paper Sweeties such as a stamp, die or embellishment!  If you don’t have any stamps from Paper Sweeties yet, we have some complimentary digital images for you to try out!  Use this month’s board as a starting point for your project — be inspired by one or more of the colors, shapes, theme — anything goes!

2. POST a DIRECT LINK to your project in our link gallery below — please link to your project post (not your entire blog) so we can easily find your creation. You do not need to have a blog to enter — you can use any of our online galleries to upload your project:  Flickr, Pinterest, Facebook or Splitcoast Stampers (keyword papersweeties)!

3. LINK back to this blog post so your readers can easily find us!

Our challenge will run for the entire month. You can play along as many times as you wish and combine with as many other challenges as you want! The challenges will end at 12 pm EST on the last day of each month. The winner will be revealed on the 1st of each month!

Paper Sweeties Inspiration #33 – ‘Red, White & Blue’

papersweeties-inspiration#33

HOW will YOU be inspired this month — colors, theme, shapes??  Here is how I was inspired to create this month (CLICK on the photos for close up views):

papersweeties-7-1-15(2)

I created this little sweetie for my oldest son who just graduated from grad school!  He got his Master’s Degree in Bio-Medical Engineering from Drexel University in PA … and I’m a proud mama!

papersweeties-7-1-15(3)

I stamped Jake on buttercream cardstock, die cut him using the Jake Sweet Cuts die and colored his hair with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.  I stamped the cap and gown onto navy cardstock using the ConGRADulations stamp set and stamped the pants and shoes using the Happy Fall Ya’ll stamp set.  I created a ‘flag’ background using red and navy cardstock strips and a square and then stamped the sentiments using the ConGRADulations and Surf’s Up stamp sets — and the cute little sail boat is from the Surf’s Up set too!  To finish things off, I added 3 Marshmallow Sequins for a little sparkle and a red glitter star die cut using the Be Happy Sweet Cuts die!

ConGRADulations! – CC#38

38

Hello crafty friends and welcome to my blog today!  I’m popping in to share a little something sweet I created for the latest challenge at The Card Concept!

 papersweeties-debbie-cc#38(2)

I created a stair-step card using a Sizzix die and lots of mixy-matchy yellow patterned papers!  I stamped Abigail and then die cut her using the coordinating Abigail Sweet Cuts die.  Next I stamped the cap, gown, tassel, diploma and hood using the ConGRADulations stamp set, fussy cut them and paper pieced the outfit onto Miss Abigail!  The shoes were stamped using the Jelly Bean Time set and colored with a black marker.

papersweeties-debbie-cc#38(3)

I die cut three banners and then stamped the sentiments on them using the ConGRADulations stamp set.  The banners were attached to the paper pieced heart shapes.  To finish my card, I added some Cookie Dough Baker’s Twine to the diploma and three Marshmallow Sequins for a little bit of sparkle!

papersweeties-debbie-cc#38(1)

My niece recently graduated from High School and we will be visiting with them this weekend while attending the Stampfest show in Lakeland, FL — I can’t wait to give this card to Kylie — I LOVE how it turned out and I hope she likes it too!  I hope you’ll have time this week to play along with our pretty color challenge at The Card Concept!

Hugs – xoxo

Hello Friend – Summer Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop!

Summer Coffee Lovers Blog HopHello crafty friends!  I’m soooo excited to be popping in today to share a little something sweet and shabby I recently created for the Summer edition of the Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop!  You won’t want to miss a single minute of the fun and inspiration … there are so many ‘super sponsors’ participating this time around — it’s going to be an A-MAZING event, and I’m tickled to be a part of all the creativity!

papersweeties-debbie-6-5-15(3)

CLICK on photos to view larger images close up!

I started with a base of Oatmeal Cookie cardstock and then layered on Sweet Berry and Bubble Gum cardstock finishing with a layer of Aqua Screen patterned paper.  I inked all the paper edges with cream paint to create a time-worn look, and then machine zig-zag stiched along the edges.  I die cut a tea pot shape from Floral Bunches patterned paper using the Tea For Two Sweet Cuts die.  I stamped a sweet heart tag on Buttercream cardstock using Cool Pool ink and then die cut the heart using the Beautiful Little Wishes Sweet Cuts die.  Next I stamped the ‘Hello Friend’ sentiment with Sweet Berry ink using the Little Wishes stamp set and attached the ‘tea bag tag’ to the tea pot with a snipett of aqua twine.

papersweeties-debbie-6-5-15(4)

I added a rouched paper ruffle using text paper and then adhered a length of vintage crochet trim in a coordinating Oatmeal color.  I created a pretty nosegay of paper flowers, pearl trinket pins, pretty glitter leaves die cut using the Party Time Sweet Cuts die set and a beautiful tea-stained Frosting Seam Binding bow.

papersweeties-debbie-6-5-15(1)

To finish my card, I added several lovely, flower-shaped, iridescent Sugar Sprinkles Sequins for a POP of bling!  (Cardstock and ink from Fun Stampers Journey, patterned papers from Recollections by Michael’s).

Hello crafty friends!!  It’s that time of the month again … time for a NEW challenge at Paper Sweeties!  Before we share the new inspiration board, let’s congratulate last month’s challenge winner … the votes are in and I’m thrilled to announce our latest winner:  Lin B.

papersweeties-lin

Lin took inspiration from the polka dots, colors and flowers from last month’s inspiration board and we absolutely adore her beautiful card!  Lin used Cookie Dough, Bubblegum, Cotton Candy and Creamsicle Sequins from the Paper Sweeties boutique!  Contact us, Lin, to claim your gift certificate for a shopping spree and get the challenge details for your Guest Designer spot next month!

Paper Sweeties Inspiration #32 – ‘Party Time’

papersweeties-inspiration#32

HOW will YOU be inspired this month — colors, theme, shapes??  Here is how I was inspired to create this month (CLICK on the photos for close up views):

papersweeties-debbie-6-1-15(2)

Who doesn’t love a pretty paper pinwheel … and polka dots, a paper straw, aqua and hot pink make it twice as fun!  I stamped a cascade of hearts and circles from the Be Happy stamp set on the white background base using Cool Pool ink and added iridescent pink glitter to the centers of the stamped hearts.  Next I created a double-sided paper pinwheel from two fun patterned papers, adhered the pinwheel to a Robin Egg Straw and then attached the pinwheel to the base of my card.

papersweeties-debbie-6-1-15(3)

I stamped the sentiment using Watermelon Fusion ink, added a Watermelon Fusion scalloped cardstock border and then tied a length a yellow grosgrain ribbon around the card base.  I die cut a heart shape from the aqua patterned paper using the Be Happy Sweet Cuts set and adhered on top of the ribbon band.

papersweeties-debbie-6-1-15(1)

To finish my card, I added Raspberry, Cookie Dough and Robin Egg Sequins to add a pop of SPARKLE and BLING!  I love, love, LOVE the Paper Sweeties flower-shaped, iridescent sequins!  (Sweet Berry cardstock and ink, Cool Pool ink – Fun Stampers Journey).
