Paper Sweeties March Inspiration Challenge #17 – ‘Polka Dot Love’

Hello sweeties!! I’m so happy you stopped by the blog today!

The votes are in and I’m thrilled to announce the winner of the Paper Sweeties Inspiration #16 Challenge: Larissa Heskett!

PSweeties-Tea-Pot-Card

What a gorgeous card Larissa created using the Tea For Two stamp set and coordinating Tea For Two Sweet Cuts die from Paper Sweeties – I love the beautiful patterned paper and vintage looking lace trim!  Contact me, Larissa, to claim your gift certificate for a shopping spree and get the challenge details for your Guest Designer spot next month!

Now, we have Paper Sweeties Inspiration #17 to share with you all!!  Paper Sweeties hosts monthly challenges right here on the blog! Each month on the 1st we will have a brand new inspiration for you to play along with. You can enter as many times as you wish throughout the month — the more times you enter, the more chances you’ll have to win!

It’s as easy as 1-2-3 to create, share and win:

1. CREATE a NEW project based on the current inspiration graphic using any of your favorite crafty supplies — receive an EXTRA VOTE if you use something from Paper Sweeties such as a stamp, die, embellishment or complimentary digital image!  Use this month’s graphic as a starting point for your project — be inspired by one or more of the colors, shapes, theme — anything goes … most important — HAVE FUN and let our photo inspiration spark your creativity!

2. POST a DIRECT LINK to your project in our link gallery below — please link to your project post (not your entire blog) so we can easily find your creation. You do not need to have a blog to enter — you can use any of our online galleries to upload your project:  Flickr, Pinterest, Facebook or Splitcoast Stampers (keyword papersweeties)!

3. LINK back to this blog post so your readers can easily find us!

Our challenge will run for the entire month. You can play along as many times as you wish and combine with as many other challenges as you want — the more times you play, the more chances you have to win! The challenges will end at 12 pm EST on the last day of each month. The new challenge and winner will be revealed on the 1st of each month!

Paper Sweeties Inspiration #17:

We have this beautiful and spring-y photo to be inspired by this month – don’t you just love it to pieces??

papersweeties-debbie#17(2)

I began with a mason jar base — one of my passions!  I LOVE mason jars and collect them at antique shows!!  I decorated my jar with snipetts of pretty papers from Betty’s Etsy shop and vintage lace trim!  I created a nosegay at the top of the jar lid using a glittered chipboard heart onto which I adhered three sweet Cotton Candy Sequins.  I then made a bow using Cotton Candy and Oatmeal seam binding and adhered it to the lid of the jar.  I added a couple of pretty paper blooms and then added a sentiment tag stamped using the Banner Wishes and Home Sweet Home stamp sets!

Next, I created a sweet little nest inspired by the photo … I used some hand picked Spanish moss and adhered three tiny blue robin eggs (berries from the craft store!).  I punched a little bird from some pretty pattern paper and gave her a polka dotted wing and pearl eye!  Last, my little birdie watching over her new little family needed a home, so I stamped the birdhouse from the Sending Springtime set directly onto patterned paper, cut it out, colored the roof with a silver glitter marker and then adhered a Grape Sequin for the little opening!

I am smitten with this little springtime treasure and put it on a shelf in my kitchen so I can see it frequently throughout the day … it makes me smile!
