TSTR #218

This week at The Shabby Tea Room we are hosting a ‘Tea Party’ – yippiee!  I LOVE hosting tea parties — I just hosted one last weekend for one of my very best girlfriends to help her celebrate her birthday … they are SO MUCH fun to host and attend!  We are asked to be inspired by this gorgeous photo this week and include a tea cup/tea pot/petit four/sweet treat plus lace/ribbon and pearls — very tea party appropriate, don’t you think??!!

I chose to include a tea pot in my design!  The Tea Room challenge is sponsored by Paper Temptress this week so, I began with a base of White Cardstock onto which I layered a piece of Blu Raspberry Cardstock and then another layer of White Vellum that I embossed with polka dots.  I added a pretty white paper doilie and then a layer of scalloped cardstock I cut from the Blu Raspeberry.  I adhered a length of vintage lace trim and a pretty Blueberry Seam Binding bow from Paper Sweeties on the left side of the card.  I stamped the tea pot image onto Cotton Candy Cardstock using the Tea For Two stamp set and then cut it out using the coordinating Tea For Two Sweet Cuts die set!  I added some blue pearls and a sparkler to the tea pot to give it a little bit of bling and then adhered three pretty flower-shaped Cotton Candy Sequins to the upper right side of the card.  To finish things off, I stamped the frame and sentiment onto White Cardstock using the Happy Wishes stamp set and adhered to the lower right of the tea pot image.

This card is suitable for a tea party invitation, birthday or hello card or any special occasion that pops up when you need to send a pretty little something to someone special!  Please be sure to visit the Tea Room to be inspired by the rest of the Shabby Girls’ beautiful projects this week and then I hope you’ll have time to play along for a chance to win an amazing prize from Paper Temptress!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Hugs – xoxo
