With a Grateful Heart …

papersweeties-debbie-11-10-13(3)

I created this card for a class that I am teaching tomorrow evening in Raleigh!

papersweeties-debbie-11-10-13(2)I used the *new* Homespun Holidays and Season of Love stamp sets along with the coordinating Homespun Holidays Sweet Cuts die and Rusty Jingle Bells to create this yummy autumn 'thanks' card!

papersweeties-debbie-11-10-13(1)I love the soft color palette, twill tape bow, candy dots and snipett of lace trim that finish off this festive card!  The mixy-matchy patterned papers give it a warm, comfortable and homespun feeling ... perfect to send off to that special friend this season to let them know how grateful you are to have them in your life!

Bounty of the Season … TKJ #145

Debbie TKJ #145 (2) For today's 'Harvest Time' challenge at The Kraft Journal, I began with a base of Buff Ivory Cardstock followed by a layer of Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock onto which I layered several patterned papers and a strip of Gaffner Tape.  I tied a delicious bow around the patterned paper layer using a length of Natural Burlap Ribbon.  Next I cut a sweet pumpkin shape from Corrugated Kraft Paper, white washed it with cream paint and adhered it to the front of the card.  I found the perfect stem in my backyard and added it to the top of the pumpkin and then created 'leaves' using Bright Green Hemp Cording.

Debbie TKJ #145 (3)

I created a sentiment tag using a tag from the  Designer's Special Grungy Prim Tags Assortment onto which I stamped a sentiment from the Give Thanks stamp set and then secured it to the pumpkin using a Metal Hinge Clip.  Last, I added a few cream buttons to the bottom of the card to add to the homespun feeling I attempted to create!

Debbie TKJ #145 (1)Please be sure to visit The Kraft Journal challenge blog to check out the amazing inspiration from the rest of the teamies ... and then I hope you'll have time to give this week's 'Harvest Time' challenge a try for a chance to win some goodness from The Kraft Outlet Shop!

Inspiration found at these awesome challenges:  Ribbon Girl November Challenge – stripes; There She Goes #232 – dots & stripes; Catered Crop - washi tape; Top Tip Tuesday #113 - seasons; Cupcake Inspirations #235 - fall leaves/colors

Autumn is … TSTR #187

Hello my friends!  Welcome to the bloggity blog today!  I'm here sharing a little fall card I made for The Shabby Tea Room #187 - 'Sketch This'.  We have this sketch to be inspired by ...

Photo Inspiration #187... fun, right??!!

Debbie TSTR #187 (2)I stamped the pretty sentiment directly onto a die cut leaf using the Sweeties Wagon stamp set, and then I stamped two little leaves from the Make Toady Beautiful stamp set and adhered them behind the Terra Cotta colored paper bloom!  I added several layers of goodness to include embossing, two patterned papers, grosgrain ribbon and burlap ... all topped off with a fun polka dotted wooden clothespin and some yummy candy dots!

Debbie TSTR #187 (1)Paper Sweeties is sponsoring the Tea Room challenge this week ... I hope you'll have time to give this sketch challenge a try for a chance to win a gift certificate to the boutique!

Cutest punkin’ ever …

DSCN1556Happy Friday crafty friends - TGIF!  I hope you have wonderful plans for the weekend ... and I hope some of those plans involve something a little bit crafty and fun!

DSCN1558I started the weekend off a little early by having my sweet friend, Audrey, over for coffee today!  We visited, chit chatted, giggled and caught up!  Audrey is just the sweetest gal ever and uber talented too ... look at this happy little fella she made just for me!  She remembered that I don't decorate very much with orange pumpkins and really like the white ones ... so she made this little sweetie especially for me -- he's so adorable and yummy -- like a smiling autumn marshmallow!  I added him to an antique scale that I have a berry garland and artichokes in ... he looks like he was made to live here!

Thank you, Miss Audrey!  I enjoyed our visit today so very much!

A shabby ‘boo’ …

papersweeties-debbie-10-2-13(1) Hello crafty friends and welcome to my blog today!  I'm here to share a pretty little something I made to decorate my home this fall season!  {click on the photos to view larger pictures of each shot}

papersweeties-debbie-10-2-13(4)I live in a {pink} Victorian, so orange is a bit difficult for me to decorate with ... although I'm seeing a lot of orange and hot pink paired together on Pinterest these days, so maybe these two colors really do 'go' together after all!  Call my old fashioned, but when I think of the fall season and Halloween, I think dark, rich colors ... black!

papersweeties-debbie-10-2-13(3)So, I set out to decorate this pretty white pumpkin my hubby brought home this past weekend -- with lots of bits and bobs of treasures from my craft room baskets!  I made a triple layered bow beginning with some re-purposed burlap from my friend, Suzi, layering white tulle on top of that and then completing the bow with some shabby, tea-stained Cake Crumbs and Oatmeal Cream seam binding from Paper Sweeties!

papersweeties-debbie-10-2-13(2)I decorated a grungy tag from The Kraft Outlet using some sparkly gold & bronze glittered chipboard alphas, a gorgeous strip of washi tape (I'm addicted to it!), a white Prima paper flower, a black button and sticker, a jingle bell tied onto a black wooden clothespin using black baker's twine.

papersweeties-debbie-10-2-13(5)I wrapped a vintage piece of hand-crocheted trim that I picked up while antiquing at the Liberty Antique Show around the base of the stem and then added some spooled chiffon trim on top of the crochet trim to create dimension!  Last I added some sparkle by adhering a couple of rhinestone flourishes!

Polka-Dot-Pumpkin-Blog-Hop-IconI have a couple of FUN places I am creating for this month!  First up is the Polka Dot Pumpkin Blog Hop over at Zappy Dots ... if you haven't stopped by to check out all their amazing inspiration yet, you must do so!  Delicious projects shared for all of your crafting needs!!  Paper Sweeties is the featured business today - yay!  Thank you Zappy Dots!

1 no watermark carousel pic 640

And next, I am happy to be Guest Designing for the month of October for the Ribbon Carousel!  Have you seen this amazingly functional ribbon organizer yet ... fun, functional and pretty all at the same time!  I'll be sharing a little something here on the blog with my *new* Ribbon Carousel later on this month -- I can't wait to show you how it looks loaded up with yummy seam binding and some of my dearest crafty treasures!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, my friends!  Until next time, happy crafting!

I was inspired by these current challenges:  Really Reasonable Ribbons #81 - fall/Halloween; Moxie Fab World - ready-made embellishments; Top Tip Tuesday #111 - flowers; Ribbon Carousel #86 - Halloween; JUGS #208 - inspo pic/pumpkins; Tuesday Throwdown #167 - colors of fall; Paper Sweeties - fall/Halloween inspo pic; Simon Says Stamp - dotty (rhinestones, pearls and pebble); The Shabby Tea Room #186 - pumpkin, burlap & twine
