16 Jan Paper Sweeties January Release Rewind!
Hello crafty friends! My how time flies when you’re having fun … today is the final day of design team project shares here on the blog for the January release … what did you think of the bakery theme this month?
I love receiving feedback and requests from our lovely fans and customers … and a bakery theme release was overdue! Many of you had voiced your opinion about adding some bakery items to the Paper Sweeties line up … I’m so glad you did … I LOVE this month’s new stamps and dies!
For today’s project, I created a winter theme birthday card for my sister-in-law who celebrates her birthday in January! I stamped the birthday sentiment onto a die cut snowflake using the Sweetie Pie stamp set and added a row of yummy candy pink dots!
I stamped snowflakes from the Thanks Snow Much stamp set onto Slate cardstock using Versamark ink and heat embossed them with Iridescent Ice powder … the gorgeous sparkly effect does not show up well in the photos, but in person they are beautiful! I added some pretty little white sequins to the middle of each snow flake for a little pop of fun! Next I stamped the adorable little branch from this set, die cut it using the Thanks Snow Much Sweet Cuts die, colored it with a glitter marker and adhered it to the base of my card. Snow drifts were die cut from white glitter chipboard using the Thanks Snow Much Sweet Cuts die and double mounted to the base of the card to create dimension.
I thought a cute little snow person was in order for this January birthday greeting, so I stamped Ms. Frosty from the Snow Friends stamp set, cut her out and added her to the snow drift on my card! I paper pieced a sweet little hat for my snow lady using the Jelly Bean Time set, patterned paper and colored the brim and flowers with Prismacolor Pencils.
My little snow lady is delivering a yummy cake to the birthday girl, so I stamped the cupcake and strawberry images from the Cupcakes & Sprinkles set, colored them with Prismacolor Pencils and glitter markers, cut them out and adhered to the top of my snow lady. A yellow taffeta ribbon scarf was tied around the little snow lady’s neck to complete this {sweet} winter birthday card!
It just wouldn’t be a party without cupcakes, right?!? So I whipped up a batch of almond cupcakes and iced them with buttercream frosting. I created cupcake toppers using adorable hot pink stripped paper straws onto which I layered a die cut white glitter chipboard snowflake, a chipboard star, acordian folded crepe paper, tinsel, a piece of flair and sentiments tags stamped using the Banner Wishes, Sending Sweet Thoughts and Stand Add-on 6 stamp sets!
And then created some name place tags to coordinate with my birthday party set using the Sending Sweet Thoughts and Fancy Monograms stamp sets along with the Sending Sweet Thoughts Sweet Cuts die!
My brother and sister-in-law are planning a visit here next month, so I will save these party pretties and plan an ‘in-person’ party when they are here! All these polka dots, cupcakes and bright, cheery colors are making me smile!
But until the in-person visit, the little snow lady birthday card is going in the mail to bring my sister-in-law some warm winter birthday wishes!
