HOW will YOU be inspired this month — colors, theme, shapes, patterns?  I was inspired by the colors and ‘school’ theme with the pencils in this gorgeous photo (CLICK on the photos for close up views):

My favorite thing to do in the whole wide world is to make 3-D projects and gifts!  When my boys were young, I used to always make their teachers the cutest little handmade gifts for back to school, holidays, teacher appreciation and end of school!  Even though my boys are grown and moved out of the house, I still enjoy making cute little school theme projects and use them for display at Paper Sweeties shows – hoping to inspire a whole new generation to create something handmade for our amazing teachers!

I started with a recycled red and white polka dot paper bag that is just so cute!  It screamed to me to be turned into something SWEET!  I added some school theme patterned papers and glitter tape to the base.  I die cut the large stitched background shape using the Window Sweet Cuts die.

I stamped Emma and die cut her using the coordinating Emma Sweet Cuts die.  Next I stamped the cute little outfit that looks perfect for back to school along with the adorable little stack of books using the So Proud of You stamp set, colored the images, paper pieced the outfit to the doll and added everything to the paper bag.  I die cut the word Happy using the Happy Sweet Cuts set, stamped and die cut the delicious apple using the Homegrown stamp set and coordinating Homegrown Sweet Cuts set and then added the sentiment banner using the So Proud of You stamp set and Sweet Borders Sweet Cuts set.  A couple of Strawberry Sequins were added for a little bit of BLING!

I made a coordinating little 3″ x 3″ card to complete my set using the Beautiful and So Proud of You stamp sets and Beautiful Little Wishes Sweet Cuts and Sweet Borders Sweet Cuts die sets!

The addition of pencils inside the polka dotted bag is the perfect little treat for this teacher appreciation gift, don’t you think??!!??
