So Sweet of You – TKJ #133!

DSCN1226For today's 'Sew So-Simple' challenge at The Kraft Journal, I created a little quilt out of paper -- and it was sew so-simple!  I followed a pattern found on the internet, cutting little squares from patterned paper and card stock and then cutting the squares into half square triangles to create the pattern.  I began with a base of Buff Ivory Card Stock onto which I added a couple layers of colored card stock.  I popped the quilt pattern layer up with dimensionals and added two Tiny Wooden Clothespins to 'hang' the quilt on.

DSCN1225

Next I created a nosegay full of yumminess by adding a bow made with Vintage Winter White seam binding, couple of Antique Stick Pins, a rosette made from Natural Twill Tape, leaves cut from Burlap and a sentiment tag stamped with the So Sweet of You stamp set and backed with a piece of Brown Kraft Card Stock.

Please be sure to pop on over to The Kraft Journal blog to check out the amazing projects created by the rest of the teamies this week, and then I hope you'll have time to play along with our Sew So-Simple challenge for a chance to win an awesome prize package from The Kraft Outlet Shop!

Okay, lets get to peekin' at my project for today!  I created an entire birthday set for the three-day hop.  Today I'm sharing a sweet little party banner I designed -- perfect for any sort of party -- birthday, tea, anniversary, engagement ... and so on!

papersweeties-birthday(1)I used these stamp sets to create the sentiment banners on each alphabet of the banner:  You Make Me Smile, You're Invited, You Are Fabulous and Occasions!

papersweeties-birthday(2)I used some yummy tea-stained seam binding to create the shabby little bows - Strawberry Shortcake and Pink Bubblegum!

papersweeties-birthday(3)The hot pink and white polka dotted 'papers' are cupcake liners that I flatted and then adhered pretty white paper doilies on top of them before building my little alphas!

papersweeties-birthday(4) I added lots of bits and bobs of treasures from my crafty baskets until I was happy with each little alpha!  When complete, I strung all the letters together using some yummy aqua tulle!

papersweeties-birthday(6)And then I hung the party banner on a pretty soft pink tufted bulletin board I picked up at AC Moore a couple of weeks ago on their clearance rack!!

papersweeties-birthday(7){Click on the photos to see larger versions}

Please be sure to visit my crafty friends' blogs -- oh my goodness, you won't want to miss a single stop on the hop -- so much eye candy, inspiration and ideas ... these ladies are simply amazing!

Thankful 4 U … TKJ #124!

Hello crafty friends!  I'm here to share a card I recently created for this week's 'Clean and Simple' challenge #124 at The Kraft Journal!

Debbie TKJ #124 (2)

I  began with a base of Buff Ivory Card Stock onto which I layered red and aqua card stock.  I added a pretty little strip of Red & White Polka Dot Washi Tape which I snipped at the end to create a point.  Next, I added a Chipboard Button on which some yummy Red Baker's Twine was tied.

Debbie TKJ #124 (1)

The label and sentiment were created using the Beautiful stamp set from Paper Sweeties which I stamped on a piece of Buff Ivory Card Stock.  Last, I added a chipboard "4" and "U" to complete my design!

Please be sure to visit The Kraft Journal to check out the beautiful projects created by the design teamies this week, and then we hope you'll have time to play along for your chance to win some awesome goodness from The Kraft Outlet Shop!!

L-O-V-E … TSTR #165!

Hello crafty friends!  I'm popping in today to share a little something I whipped up for this week's challenge at The Shabby Tea Room #165 - 'Totally Textured'!

Photo Inspiration #165We're to be inspired by the photo and use DRY EMBOSSING and STITCHING to create texture on our projects this week -- FUN!  Two of my favorite things to do when paper crafting!

Debbie TSTR #165 (2)I used the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder on white vellum to create the base for my card.  It was adhered using machine zig-zag stitching around the edges.  Next I die cut a window shape and then stamped L-O-V-E using the Fancy Monograms set and adhered the letters to the inside of the window panes.  Next I added some pretty pearl flourishes to the corners of my card.

Debbie TSTR #165 (1)And last, I created a pretty little nosegay by adding a couple of paper flowers, a white glittered chipboard heart and two leaves I stamped using the Make Today Beautiful stamp set!

Paper Sweeties badgePaper Sweeties is the sponsor in the Tea Room this week and will provide this week's winner with a $20 gift certificate to the shoppe!  Please be sure to make a visit to The Shabby Tea Room to check out the beautiful inspiration from the rest of the Shabby Girls!

Hugs!

Challenges I took inspiration from:  Simon Says Stamp – happy mail, Fussy and Fancy #88 – anything, Catered Crop – embossing
