Boo – TKJ #143!

TKJ #143We have a color inspiration challenge for this week at The Kraft Journal!  I LOVE color inspiration challenges, how about you??

Debbie TKJ #143 (2)

I began with a base of Brown Kraft Cardstock which I layered onto a pumpkin shaped card template from The Cutting Cafe and hand cut.  Next I cut the decorative layers for the top of the pumpkins using various patterned papers and Vintage Dictionary Pages.  After adhering the decorative layers, I cut burlap stems for the pumpkins using Burlap Tags.

Debbie TKJ #143 (1)

To create the leaf nosegay, I added glittered leaves I hand cut, Tiny Wooden Green Clothespins and Bright Green Hemp Cording.  Last, I added a glittered pumpkin sticker and gave him a sweet sentiment stamped onto a Grungy Prim Tag using the Too Cute To Spook stamp set from Paper Sweeties and then secured on a Memo Pin.

Please be sure to visit The Kraft Journal to be inspired by the rest of the teamies' projects this week, and then I hope you'll give our color inspiration challenge a try for a chance to win an awesome prize package from The Kraft Outlet Shop!

Cutest punkin’ ever …

DSCN1556Happy Friday crafty friends - TGIF!  I hope you have wonderful plans for the weekend ... and I hope some of those plans involve something a little bit crafty and fun!

DSCN1558I started the weekend off a little early by having my sweet friend, Audrey, over for coffee today!  We visited, chit chatted, giggled and caught up!  Audrey is just the sweetest gal ever and uber talented too ... look at this happy little fella she made just for me!  She remembered that I don't decorate very much with orange pumpkins and really like the white ones ... so she made this little sweetie especially for me -- he's so adorable and yummy -- like a smiling autumn marshmallow!  I added him to an antique scale that I have a berry garland and artichokes in ... he looks like he was made to live here!

Thank you, Miss Audrey!  I enjoyed our visit today so very much!

A shabby ‘boo’ …

papersweeties-debbie-10-2-13(1) Hello crafty friends and welcome to my blog today!  I'm here to share a pretty little something I made to decorate my home this fall season!  {click on the photos to view larger pictures of each shot}

papersweeties-debbie-10-2-13(4)I live in a {pink} Victorian, so orange is a bit difficult for me to decorate with ... although I'm seeing a lot of orange and hot pink paired together on Pinterest these days, so maybe these two colors really do 'go' together after all!  Call my old fashioned, but when I think of the fall season and Halloween, I think dark, rich colors ... black!

papersweeties-debbie-10-2-13(3)So, I set out to decorate this pretty white pumpkin my hubby brought home this past weekend -- with lots of bits and bobs of treasures from my craft room baskets!  I made a triple layered bow beginning with some re-purposed burlap from my friend, Suzi, layering white tulle on top of that and then completing the bow with some shabby, tea-stained Cake Crumbs and Oatmeal Cream seam binding from Paper Sweeties!

papersweeties-debbie-10-2-13(2)I decorated a grungy tag from The Kraft Outlet using some sparkly gold & bronze glittered chipboard alphas, a gorgeous strip of washi tape (I'm addicted to it!), a white Prima paper flower, a black button and sticker, a jingle bell tied onto a black wooden clothespin using black baker's twine.

papersweeties-debbie-10-2-13(5)I wrapped a vintage piece of hand-crocheted trim that I picked up while antiquing at the Liberty Antique Show around the base of the stem and then added some spooled chiffon trim on top of the crochet trim to create dimension!  Last I added some sparkle by adhering a couple of rhinestone flourishes!

Polka-Dot-Pumpkin-Blog-Hop-IconI have a couple of FUN places I am creating for this month!  First up is the Polka Dot Pumpkin Blog Hop over at Zappy Dots ... if you haven't stopped by to check out all their amazing inspiration yet, you must do so!  Delicious projects shared for all of your crafting needs!!  Paper Sweeties is the featured business today - yay!  Thank you Zappy Dots!

Bountiful Blessings – TKJ #135!

Debbie TKJ #135 (2)

For today's 'CASE Your Favorite Designer' challenge at The Kraft Journal, I was inspired by my sweet stampy friend, Melissa Phillips!

Debbie TKJ #135 (4)I began with a base of Brown Kraft Cardstock onto which I layered a couple of pieces of different patterned papers.  I wrapped a length of Natural Fringe around the base of the card, tied a bow with a piece of Green Hemp Cording and then added a stamped X-Small Grungy Prim Tag and Tiny Colored Wooden Clothespin.

Debbie TKJ #135 (3)

I loved the mixy-matchy stamped sentiments and sweet pumpkin on Melissa's card, so I stamped several sentiments and accessory images on my card ... and then added tiny punched hearts that I punched from a snipett of X-Small Grungy Prim Tag.

Debbie TKJ #135 (1)I used these sets from Paper Sweeties on my card:  A Friend Is, You Are Simply The Best, The Splendor of Autumn, Sweeties Wagon and You Are.

Please be sure to pop on over to check out the beautiful work created by the rest of the teamies for this week's 'CASE Your Favorite Designer' challenge ... and then I hope you'll have time to play along for a chance to win some delicious goodness from The Kraft Outlet Shop!
