Photo inspiration #200

Hello sweet crafty friends – welcome to the first challenge of the new year at The Shabby Tea Room – #200 – ‘So Romantic’!  We are to be inspired by this lovely photo and to include roses in our projects this week – easy peesy!

Debbie TSTR #200 (2)

I began with a base of vanilla, onto which I layered a piece of kraft followed by pieces of shimmer pink and black/white damask patterned paper – zig zag machine stitching around all edges and adding a bit of ink to create a time-worn look.  I had fun going through my treasure baskets to add some shabby and romantic embellishments – a glittered chipboard heart, a delicious organza and satin pink flower, some scrap crochet trim, a paper doilie, some Marshmallow sequins, a pearl trinket pin, a sheet music piece of flair and an Oatmeal Cream seam binding bow!

Paper Sweeties is the Tea Room sponsor this week and I used the So Sweet of You sentiment stamp set on my card!

Please be sure to visit The Shabby Tea Room to check out the gorgeous inspiration projects from the rest of the Shabby Girls this week … and then I hope you’ll have some time to get crafty this week and play along for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to Paper Sweeties!

Hugs!

Challenges I was inspired by:  Really Reasonable Ribbons #86 – pink & ribbon; Pile it On #1 – just because;  7 Kids College Fund #90 – anything; Simon Says Challenge – something new; Word Art Wednesday #113 – anything;  Case Study #172 – florals

  1. Hi Debbie!
I’m delighted to see that you’ve linked your lovely art to our challenge again this week. I was afraid you were upset with me. It means SO MUCH to have you share your lovely art, and I’m grateful for each creation you link with us. I hope you’re off to a great 2014.

  2. So many of my favorite things on your card, Debbie: lace and hearts and music and your lovely flower! Thanks for sharing it with us at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!
