With Heartfelt Gratitude – CC #1

1Hello crafty friends!  So happy you stopped by my blog today — I have something fun to share with you all!  Today marks the kick off of the very first challenge at The Card Concept!  We have a color challenge to start things off this month — some of my very favorite colors to create with: kraft, pink, vanilla and espresso – YUM!

So, in true shabby chic fashion, I set to work to create something with these delicious colors!  I began with a base of vanilla onto which I layered some espresso cardstock that I die cut a fancy edge into.  Next I layered a piece of beautiful floral patterned paper with pretty vanilla polka dots!  I inked and machine zig-zag stitched around all the edges and then added some vanilla antique lace trim and a pretty Pink Bubblegum seam binding bow!

I combed through the treasure baskets in my craft room to pull out perfect little bits and bobs to add to my card … a pink glittered chipboard heart, a two-tone pink satin flower, a dress form shape die cut from sheet music patterned paper, a clear faceted button onto which I layered a pretty pearl and a couple of Rusty Jingle Bells tied onto the sentiment banner with some kraft button twine.

The sentiment was stamped with espresso ink into vanilla cardstock using the You Make Me Smile sentiment stamp set from Paper Sweeties!

Hop on over to The Card Concept challenge blog to check out the A-MAZING inspiration from the rest of the team in a wide variety of design styles, and then I hope you’ll jump on in and join us at The Card Concept for this week’s yummy color challenge!
