Sweet Treats – TKJ #151

Sweet Treats – TKJ #151

Debbie TKJ #151 (2)For this week’s ‘Something New’ challenge at The Kraft Journal, I tried my hand at making a little goodie treat bag to give to visitor’s during the holiday season … the ‘new’ twist was a chocolate covered spoon I included in my {sweet treat} bags!  I  began with a Medium Cello Bag into which I added a packet of Peppermint Hot Chocolate, a candy cane and a chocolate covered spoon which I  wrapped in cellophane and secured with Red Baker’s Twine.  Next, I  added a row of Red & White Polka Dot Washi Tape onto the bottom of a Small Glassine Bag.   I die cut a snowflake shape from a piece of Brown Kraft Cardstock and then folded it over the top of the Glassine Bag and wrapped some Red Baker’s Twine around the treat bag a couple of times, securing it with a bow and a tag which she stamped “Sweet Treats” on using the Little Wishes and Ho Ho Ho sets from Paper Sweeties.

Debbie TKJ #151 (3)I secured the top of my {sweet treat} gift bag with a length of Natural Hemp Cording and tied on a tag made using a Blackboard Tag and added a die cut snowflake stamped with a sentiment from the Have a Holly Jolly Holiday stamp set, a Red & White Chenille Candy Cane and a couple of fun silver jingle bells!

Debbie TKJ #151 (1)I am hosting a card class, cookie exchange and card exchange event at my house this evening and I made one of these sweet treat bags for each attendee!  I love giving handmade from the heart gifts to family and friends all year long, but especially during the holidays!

Please be sure to visit The Kraft Journal challenge blog to check out the delicious inspiration from the rest of the teamies this week, and then I hope you’ll have time to place along with this week’s ‘Something New’ challenge for a chance to win some goodness from The Kraft Outlet Shop!
