Bloom Where You Are Planted – CC#15

CC-15

Hello crafty peeps!  I’m back from the SSAT show this past weekend in Winston-Salem, NC and ready to rock and roll again with projects to share here on the blog!  A BIG thank you to all the local gals that came out to visit with Paper Sweeties at the show — so … much … FUN 🙂

Isn’t this the prettiest inspiration photo this week for the newest challenge at The Card Concept?  LOVE the color palette – swoon!  I started with a base of turquoise cardstock and then I inked the edges with cream paint to create a time-worn look and ‘dull down’ the bright turquoise color.  Next I added a layer of ruled patterned paper and zig-zag stitched around all the edges.  I die cut several adorable fences using the Home Tweet Home Sweet Cuts die set and then embossed them with polka dots – yum!  I created a sentiment banner using the Make Today Beautiful stamp set, inked the edges and then added two adorable, flower-shaped iridescent Robin Egg Sequins.

I created a ‘stem’ for the gorgeous lime green flower using a Robin Egg Paper Straw and then cut two polka dotted leaves from patterned paper.  The flower was adhered to a white paper doilie – inspired by the lace and flowers in the candle holders on the inspiration photo!

Please be sure to stop by The Card Concept challenge blog to be inspired by this week’s design team creations — they are gorgeous!  I hope you’ll have some time to play along this week … ready, set, GO!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Hugs – xoxox
