Sweetest holiday season – TKJ #149

Sweetest holiday season – TKJ #149

This week The Kraft Journal #149 brings us a sketch challenge … I LOVE sketch challenges!!

I decided to create a {sweet treat} gift idea using stamped sentiments on a oval die cut and tag for the oval and square elements of the sketch!  I began with a Kraft CD Envelope which I covered with patterned papers.  Next I cut a white paper doilie in half and adhered half of an Oval Brown Kraft Label onto it before adhering the doilie to the base of the CD Envelope.

Next I created a pretty paper ruffle using a Vintage Dictionary Page and then tied a length of White Twill Tape around the center of the CD Envelope.  Red Baker’s Twine was wrapped around the Twill Tape and two Rusty Jingle Bells were tied on.  A fluffy Red & White Chenille Candy Cane was slipped under the Baker’s Twine and secured with hot glue.

I stamped the sentiments onto Buff Ivory Cardstock and a Scalloped Grungy Prim Tag.  The oval sentiment was die cut and adhered directly to the base of the CD Envelope.  The Grungy Prim Tag was attached to the Candy Cane with a Memo Pin and then a tiny, red button was added.

A white paper doilie was wrapped around an envelope of Peppermint Hot Chocolate and tied on with Red Baker’s Twine.  Marshmallows were added to a clear cellophane sleeve and the treats were slipped inside the CD Envelope.  I love giving party favors to guests who visit my house all year round … I’m hosting a holiday progressive party for my dinner club early in December and each couple will go home with one of these {sweet treats}!
