Holly Jolly Christmas – TSTR #194
Hello crafty friends! Happy Monday 🙂 I have a little something sweet to share with you all that I created for this week's new challenge at The Shabby Tea Room - 'Christmas is Coming'! We are to create a holiday card/project using red, white & brown.
Bugaboo Stamps is the sponsor this week in the Tea Room and I got to create with their delicious Christmas Cupcake Mistletoe image - YUM!
I stamped the sentiment tag using a phrase from the Make the Season Bright stamp set and then added some pretty embellishments to make this holiday card sparkle and shine ... red & white polka dot grosgrain ribbon, a white chenille candy cane, baker's twine, glitter, green jingle bells and a darling piece of holiday flair from my friend, Joscelyne's, shop!
Please hop on over to the Tea Room to be inspired by the rest of the Shabby Girls' projects this week and then I hope you'll have time to play along with our 'Christmas is Coming' challenge for a chance to win a fabulous prize package from Bugaboo Stamps!
A Moxie Fab Homespun Holiday!
Hello crafty friends and welcome to a very special post today! I'm delighted to be joining a HUGE group of talented paper crafters today to honor Cath Edvalson - creator of the inspirational Moxie Fab World blog! Cath will be leaving her job as a contributing editor for Paper Crafts Magazine this month, so a group of us got together to host a Designer's Blog Hop today to help celebrate Cath and show her just how much she will be missed!
I have been a fan and follower of the wonderful Moxie Fab World blog for several years ... and have found so much inspiration in the weekly challenges offered there! A couple of the very first challenges I ever won at the beginning of my paper crafting 'career' were from projects I created and submitted to Cath's Moxie Fab World challenges:
8/4/10 - Moxie Fab World Card Style: Shabby Chic winner!
10/13/10 - Moxie Fab World Holiday Cards & More: Season's Giftings winner!
11/2/11 - Moxie Fab World Textured to Perfection winner!
7/16/12 - Moxie Fabber of the Week!
I love making handmade from the heart paper crafted treasures all year round, but when the holidays roll around, I am so in my 'element'! Christmas truly is the most wonderful time of the year for me, and I so enjoy creating pretty things from paper and glue to help celebrate the season! Cath's Moxie holiday challenges were always at the top of my list of favorites to be inspired by and create along with! Cath was always so encouraging and sweet through the comments she left on my little projects -- the fact that she took the time to leave me a little love throughout my crafting journey always touched my heart!
I created a holiday card in honor of Cath with a homespun feeling -- all warm and cozy with gingham and dots, lace and buttons, tea-stained hem tape and rusty bells! I'm thinking this card will become my 2013 family holiday card ... smitten with it's warmth and charm ... what do you think? {click on photos for larger views}
I used these *new* holiday goodies from the Paper Sweeties boutique which are LIVE in the shop as of today -- released EARLY this month for all of your holiday crafting needs:
Homespun Holidays stamp set
Homespun Holidays Sweet Cuts die
I hand tea-stained the hem tape. The buttons and twine are from Papertrey Ink. The gorgeous patterned paper is from October Afternoon - 2012 and I've been hoarding it in my stash ... LOVE 🙂

I am a HUGE fan of banners, so this card was so much fun for me to create!
I used the Banner Wishes, You Are Amazing and You Make Me Smile stamp sets from Paper Sweeties to create the pennants and sentiments on my banner. The cupcake is a sticker from Doodlebug and the seam binding, gingham washi tape and candy dots are from SU!

Boo – TKJ #143!
We have a color inspiration challenge for this week at The Kraft Journal! I LOVE color inspiration challenges, how about you??
I began with a base of Brown Kraft Cardstock which I layered onto a pumpkin shaped card template from The Cutting Cafe and hand cut. Next I cut the decorative layers for the top of the pumpkins using various patterned papers and Vintage Dictionary Pages. After adhering the decorative layers, I cut burlap stems for the pumpkins using Burlap Tags.
To create the leaf nosegay, I added glittered leaves I hand cut, Tiny Wooden Green Clothespins and Bright Green Hemp Cording. Last, I added a glittered pumpkin sticker and gave him a sweet sentiment stamped onto a Grungy Prim Tag using the Too Cute To Spook stamp set from Paper Sweeties and then secured on a Memo Pin.
Please be sure to visit The Kraft Journal to be inspired by the rest of the teamies' projects this week, and then I hope you'll give our color inspiration challenge a try for a chance to win an awesome prize package from The Kraft Outlet Shop!
