02 Oct A shabby ‘boo’ …
Hello crafty friends and welcome to my blog today! I’m here to share a pretty little something I made to decorate my home this fall season! {click on the photos to view larger pictures of each shot}
I live in a {pink} Victorian, so orange is a bit difficult for me to decorate with … although I’m seeing a lot of orange and hot pink paired together on Pinterest these days, so maybe these two colors really do ‘go’ together after all! Call my old fashioned, but when I think of the fall season and Halloween, I think dark, rich colors … black!
So, I set out to decorate this pretty white pumpkin my hubby brought home this past weekend — with lots of bits and bobs of treasures from my craft room baskets! I made a triple layered bow beginning with some re-purposed burlap from my friend, Suzi, layering white tulle on top of that and then completing the bow with some shabby, tea-stained Cake Crumbs and Oatmeal Cream seam binding from Paper Sweeties!
I decorated a grungy tag from The Kraft Outlet using some sparkly gold & bronze glittered chipboard alphas, a gorgeous strip of washi tape (I’m addicted to it!), a white Prima paper flower, a black button and sticker, a jingle bell tied onto a black wooden clothespin using black baker’s twine.
I wrapped a vintage piece of hand-crocheted trim that I picked up while antiquing at the Liberty Antique Show around the base of the stem and then added some spooled chiffon trim on top of the crochet trim to create dimension! Last I added some sparkle by adhering a couple of rhinestone flourishes!
I have a couple of FUN places I am creating for this month! First up is the Polka Dot Pumpkin Blog Hop over at Zappy Dots … if you haven’t stopped by to check out all their amazing inspiration yet, you must do so! Delicious projects shared for all of your crafting needs!! Paper Sweeties is the featured business today – yay! Thank you Zappy Dots!
And next, I am happy to be Guest Designing for the month of October for the Ribbon Carousel! Have you seen this amazingly functional ribbon organizer yet … fun, functional and pretty all at the same time! I’ll be sharing a little something here on the blog with my *new* Ribbon Carousel later on this month — I can’t wait to show you how it looks loaded up with yummy seam binding and some of my dearest crafty treasures!
Thanks so much for stopping by today, my friends! Until next time, happy crafting!
