announce 2016

Welcome to day #1 of the annual holiday Visions of Sugarplums Blog Hop hosted by Lori Hairston!  I’m thrilled that Lori invited me to share some projects again this year and hope my creations will help spark your creativity this holiday season!  CLICK on the photos to see larger views!

I created a 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ card using Sweet Emma!  I love making smaller sized, square cards … and the extra cardstock that is cut off the end of a full sheet of paper is perfect for little bits and bobs and great for paper piecing smaller things onto larger images – like Emma’s outfit!  First I stamped Emma onto vanilla cardstock and then die cut her using the Emma Sweet Cuts die.  To dress her for taking a walk outside in the blustery snow, I used the Let it Snow stamp set!

First I stamped the hat, coat and boots onto white cardstock.  Next I stamped the hat, coat and leggins on patterned paper.  I cut out all the outfit images and then had fun dressing Emma – aka paper piecing the images onto the Emma body base!  Paper piecing is the most FUN thing to do … as a little girl, I used to play with paper dolls for hours and hours, and now that I’m a grown up girl, I still love to play dress up!  I die cut the snow drift with white glitter paper using the Thanks Snow Much Sweet Cuts set, stamped the sentiment using Thanks Snow Much and then added some sparkly snowflakes using Winter Mix Sequins!
