L-O-V-E … TSTR #165!

Hello crafty friends!  I'm popping in today to share a little something I whipped up for this week's challenge at The Shabby Tea Room #165 - 'Totally Textured'!

Photo Inspiration #165We're to be inspired by the photo and use DRY EMBOSSING and STITCHING to create texture on our projects this week -- FUN!  Two of my favorite things to do when paper crafting!

Debbie TSTR #165 (2)I used the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder on white vellum to create the base for my card.  It was adhered using machine zig-zag stitching around the edges.  Next I die cut a window shape and then stamped L-O-V-E using the Fancy Monograms set and adhered the letters to the inside of the window panes.  Next I added some pretty pearl flourishes to the corners of my card.

Debbie TSTR #165 (1)And last, I created a pretty little nosegay by adding a couple of paper flowers, a white glittered chipboard heart and two leaves I stamped using the Make Today Beautiful stamp set!

Paper Sweeties badgePaper Sweeties is the sponsor in the Tea Room this week and will provide this week's winner with a $20 gift certificate to the shoppe!  Please be sure to make a visit to The Shabby Tea Room to check out the beautiful inspiration from the rest of the Shabby Girls!

Hugs & Kisses – Catered Crop style!

Hello friends and welcome to the blog today!  I'm popping in to share a little something I recently created for this week's 'Embossing' challenge at Catered Crop!  The rainbow card I created was chosen as one of the top three from last week's 'Glitter' challenge:

so I was invited by my sweet friend, Linda, to share something for today's quickfire 'Embossing' lineup!

papersweeties-apr5(1)Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you're having a wonderful day and getting plenty of stampy time in, my friends!

Hoo-rah!

Hello crafty friends!  We have a momentous occasion coming up next weekend in my family -- my oldest son will be graduating from NCSU for Materials Science Engineering!  I am such a proud mama ... my how these past four years have flown by!

May 2013 (9)Since Brandon was instrumental in teaching me how to use Adobe Illustrator and my electronic drawing table in order to illustrate the Paper Sweeties images, I thought it fitting to make him a card using Paper Sweeties stamps to celebrate his big day!

May 2013 (10)Here I dressed Jake in a cap and gown - complete with tiny diploma and tassle too!  For Jake's pants, I used the You're My Hero set, for the gown I used the Christmas Blessings set ...

May 2013 (11)and all the sentiments were stamped using the You're My Hero and So Proud of You stamp sets -- perfect for any graduation ... pre-school, kindergarten, middle school, high school or college -- my son is 22 years old!

May 2013 (8)And here is his complete gift -- the box was made using the Tiny Tucker Tab cut file and Round Off set from My Time Made easy and I stamped the 'Celebrate' using the Beautiful stamp set.

His 'real' cap and gown are ironed and hanging in the dining room awaiting the official ceremony next weekend -- what a special day!  Thanks for letting me share a little bit of this proud mama moment with you all!

Challenges I found inspiration from:  CASE Study #139 - inspired by red/white/black; Simon Says Stamp - happy mail

Bloom Where You Are Planted … Fusion #4!

Challenge #4Hello crafty friends!  I have some fun news to share with you all today ... I was asked by my friend, Lesley Croghan, to guest design with the ladies over at Fusion for the #4 challenge!  For my assignment, I was asked to use the sketch and photo inspiration to come up with a {fusion} card -- too fun!

papersweeties-apr26(2)I used the Make Today Beautiful stamp set from Paper Sweeties to create the background patterned paper stamping two flower images in four different colors!  Next, I adhered a sentiment stamped using the same set and adhered it to a piece of pumpkin cardstock for a pop of color!  Last I adhered a pretty blue paper bloom to pick up the blooms in the stamped background piece and finished it off with a couple of green glittered leaves!

papersweeties-apr26(1)Please pop on over to the Fusion blog to check out the lovely creations by the design team girls, and then I hope you'll give this neat challenge a try ... will you use just the sketch -- just the photo -- or combine both to create FUSION??!!??

Hugs!

I {heart} U … TKJ #118!

Debbie TKJ #118 (3)For today's 'Recycle or Reuse' challenge #118 at The Kraft Journal, I used Spanish moss picked from trees while walking on a golf course in Florida and a stick from my backyard as my recycle/reuse items!  I created a white cardstock base onto which I layered black cardstock.  I added a strip of Music Note Tape on the bottom and tied a couple of lengths of Red Baker's Twine around the card.

Debbie TKJ #118 (2)

I added a die cut bird cage and then decorated it with the moss nest, twig perch and a die cut bird.  To make the bird, I adhered some Red Polka Dot Tape onto cardstock and then cut the bird shape.  A pretty paper bloom was added along with two Garnet Stick Pins for balance.

Debbie TKJ #118 (1)

Last, I added an I {heart} U sentiment stamped using the Fancy Monograms stamp set from Paper Sweeties!

Please be sure to visit The Kraft Journal challenge blog to check out the amazing inspiration projects created by the rest of the teamies!  We hope you'll play along with our 'Recycle or Reuse' challenge for your chance to win some goodness from The Kraft Outlet Shop!
